Studiocom Wins 2011 AIMA Award!

Posted on 04/29/2011 15:42:32

Studiocom is incredibly proud to win the 2011 AiMA Award for “Most Effective Use Of A Website.” The agency took home the prize for its redesign of McCormickGourmet.com.

The event took place on April 28th at the Georgia Aquarium, where we were entertained by whales and fish swimming on the walls, amazing food and drinks, and music from Yacht Rock.

We had a great time with our agency friends and the OMG photo booth, which you can see evidence of below. Many thanks to the hardworking McCormick team and our own Katelynn Reilly, who hosted the wonderful event. Let’s keep up the good work and look forward to the 2012 AiMAs!

From Athens to Atlanta: Studiocom Welcomes the UGA Ad Club

Posted on 04/25/2011 09:13:30

Studiocom was recently asked to participate in the University of Georgia Ad Club annual tour. The UGA Ad Club is a collection of students — from freshmen to seniors — who are all interested in pursuing careers in marketing and advertising. Each year, dozens of students make the trek from Athens to Atlanta to visit with traditional agencies, digital agencies and the marketing division of major brands. In the past, they have visited with companies such as Coca-Cola, JWT and Moxie.

We wanted to make the students feel welcome, give them an honest perspective of agency life and offer new insight. So we provided a delicious snack bar, hosted an agency tour and designed an educational presentation on digital media. To share our view of agency life, we organized a panel of our brightest minds to talk about their experiences in the agency world and take questions from the audience. We wanted to encourage engagement and make a lasting impression, so we allowed students to submit comments via a live Twitter feed. We also passed out some goodies for them to take home.

Overall, the event was a ton of fun and a good representation of life at Studiocom. People from all different departments and levels pulled together to create a memorable experience for the students, and our efforts were met with enthusiasm and excitement. We enjoyed working with the Ad Club and are looking forward to strengthening our relationship and involvement in the future!

A post-advertising world?

Posted on 10/08/2010 12:13:54

In the greatest communications shift in centuries, new technologies are allowing people to take control in ways never before possible. The formerly passive audience has transformed into creators, co-creators, and participants. How will advertising agencies transition from organizations designed to deliver mass-messages to ones that are relevant in this new world of mass conversations?

John Rich, our Director of Strategy and Planning, will be presenting his ideas on preparing for life in the post-advertising world to the New Mexico Advertising Federation on October 19, 2010.

In Albuquerque on October 19th? Stop by for lunch and the chat.
